Community Project
Thursday 4:30 pm - 7:00 pm
Every year we pick a service project to help give back to our host community.  This year we will be assembling care packages for 2 local charities - Meals on Wheels, San Antonio, and The Children's Shelter.  Our goal is to assemble 300 packages for each organization.  We will be assembling the care packages from donated items at the grand Hyatt San Antonio Thursday evening (May 30).

Anyone can contribute by helping to purchase the supplies for the kits by going to our Amazon Wishlist – your purchase will ship direct to the Grand Hyatt San Antonio!
Meals on Wheels is a public-private partnership that enables seniors to remain more healthy and independent in their own homes, where they want to be, avoiding far more costly healthcare alternatives, such as unnecessary trips to the emergency room, hospitalizations and nursing home placements.

Meals on Wheels San Antonio prepares and delivers hot, nutritious meals each weekday to homebound seniors living throughout Bexar County. Every weekday in Bexar County Meals on Wheels prepares and delivers more than a meal to 3,800 homebound seniors.
Restoring innocence. Ending the cycle of abuse.

The Children’s Shelter is a private, nationally accredited nonprofit corporation. Since 1901, we have provided a safe haven for child survivors of abuse, neglect, and abandonment in San Antonio and Bexar County. Today, The Children’s Shelter is a trauma-informed care certified organization that provides a continuity of care through an array of a family of services. We provide emergency shelter and therapeutic foster care for children and youth. Our Family Strengthening programs teach nurturing parenting skills to vulnerable families and help families overcome crises. Finally, our mental health clinic provides trauma-sensitive therapeutic interventions for children and families impacted by maltreatment.
